An Absence is a short film based on the poetry of my colleague and friend Mark Prime, who died in 2023. The poem tells of an enforced separation from the simple freedoms of life, and is paired with images of a long-abandoned and now demolished hospital, its ghost resurrected through the use of ai.
Chris Turneris a commercials, music video and film director who works under his company name Favourite Colour: Black. Chris and writer Mark Prime worked together in commercials for years before beginning to explore experimental film during the pandemic, pairing Chris’ visuals with Mark’s poetry. Sadly, Mark passed away in 2023.
