Believe In Your Murderer – Makis Moulos – Spain

“Believe in your murderer” is a poem about living your life as an homosexual person in the 21st century. It shouts out the fear and the unsafe life we live in, looking to be free as a person and not in a social jail, pretending to be something other that yourself.

Makis Moulos (Greece,1980), is a trilingual writer, poet and a spoken word artist, based in Barcelona, Spain. He uses his confident style to explore themes such as sexuality, stigmas and gender. He has published 3 personal poetry anthologies and collaborated in 2 books of short stories in Greece. He writes and performs in English, Spanish and Greek.

Makis is the organizer of the tournament “poENtry slam” (Poetry Slam tournament in English) in Barcelona and the tournament “Poetry Slam Gr” in Greece (also the founder). He is also the organizer of the annual festival “Duende Sessions” in Barcelona, which combines live music with spoken word performances in English, Spanish and Catalan. Since the beginning of 2019, he is experimenting with adding live music in his performances and spoken word collaborations and he has created the band “True Love W8s”, adding violin, guitar, piano and experimental sounds in his performances.

Makis is also the publisher of the quarterly magazine “poENtry slam” in Barcelona in English, sold in his events. The magazine includes all the poems of the poets who performs in his event for the period, plus articles featuring spoken word artists from around the world and the 10 favorite poets of him for the period, plus recommendation of all the youtube channels where you can see poetry slam and spoken word performances, plus recommendation of movies about poetry slam and poetic character, plus local and worldwide news about poetry events.

He is founder and member of the project “Digital Girl”, which is an approach to social issues through poetry, experimental music sounds and video poetry. This project is a collaboration with the artist Jane Dalida.
