Combining a collection of readings in 10 languages with user-generated content from over 20 countries. Made in collaboration with Kitty O’Meara’s, based on her poem that begins, “And the people stayed home”, creatives around the world, connected by 6-degrees of isolation, collaborated to make a film to celebrate solidarity in the age of isolation.

Directors Julia Ngeow and Marion Bergin’s short-film tells a story of resilience and the power of humanity to come together, even while separated, offering a silver lining to the dark cloud we’re all living through. From different cultures, ethnicities, ages, abilities, and across the gender spectrum, And the People weaves a rich tapestry of life in the age of isolation.

Director Biography – Marion Bergin, Julia Ngeow

Marion Bergin is a freelance creative director, director and photographer, working between London and Dublin, who recently expanded the scope of her creative into documentary film, and strives to tell stories from a place of compassion.

Julia Ngeow is an Australian filmmaker who has created films across the globe – based in New York. She seeks to explore psychology, the physics of reality and interconnectedness in her work.
